We Are Currently Hiring A Project Organizer & Landscape Team Members

Project Organizer – Field / Office – Landscape Construction

Reports to: Owner

Summary:

The Landscape Construction Project Organizer – Field / Office – is responsible for organizing specific tasks regarding various aspects of landscape construction projects.

Job Duties:

Organize the execution of and timing of construction projects by planning in house or rental equipment requirements and non-critical material deliveries to ensure completion of job(s) within project deadlines o Assist in the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project
- Non critical material deliveries are all materials other than paving products or big ticket items in excess of $1,000.00: lighting, plant, pond material and landscape materials are considered non critical items
- Discuss with Jeff the advance purchase of materials by reviewing job planner details at least 2 – 3 weeks out to make sure long lead items are taken care of
- Create a job calendar where by current job progress is kept with a forecast of future work. Give job calendar weekly updates to Office by Monday for the week prior
  - Submit to office the next day the hours each team and member spends on a job – can txt in by phone
- Coordinate or deliver equipment to / for job site
  - Only deliver equipment that can be loaded into the back of the F-450 / F-550 by others
  - Not required to shuttle equipment by trailer from site to site
- Coordinate or pick up materials as necessary to load the job . Only deliver material that can be loaded in the back of the F-450 / F-550
Organize the dumping of materials or removal of infill and debris by working with various subcontractors
Review team needs in the morning meeting to make sure material & equipment is ready and available for daily work
Organize safety, quality and productivity of work at sites and/or shop/yard
Operate very light duty tools and equipment to assist in cleanup of job sites; brooming, sweeping, power washing, etc
Operate very light duty tools and equipment to assist in landscaping jobs raking mulching, planting small flora
Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, and cleaning on a daily basis
Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to complete work activities
Complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis, including: daily equipment operating logs, bills, and receipts for material bought or rented
Comply with all company policies and regulations
Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner
Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
After the project is complete, photograph the work site for marketing and document the photographs taken

Requirements:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the landscape/construction industry
Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
Time management skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices
Speak, read, and write English/ Spanish as a second language is desirable

Work Conditions:

Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Able to perform very light duty tasks like cleanup and landscaping
Work near heavy equipment
Drive pickup trucks on a regular basis
Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
Start time of 07:30 hours with overtime if required including occasional weekend work as necessary

Project Organizer Earning Potential:

Hourly rate, depending on experience, for this position is between $30 – 40/Hour, plus benefits (listed below), payable weekly, less all necessary payroll deductions. You are eligible for overtime. All overtime is paid at time and one half after 40 hours. Expect to work a 50-hour week from March through November and 40-hour weeks during the months of December, January, and February. After the first ninety (90) days of your employment, you will be eligible to receive the following benefits:

Vacation, Sick or Personal Leave: You will have five (5) paid vacation days, and three (3) sick or personal leave days per calendar year. If you do not use these days, you will lose them. They do not carry over from year to year and any unused vacation, sick or personal leave days will not be paid out, if you leave the company for any reason.
Holidays: You will be paid for the following holidays unless they fall on a Saturday or Sunday:

New Year’s Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day

Additional benefits such as supplemental insurance, additional vacation, personal leave days and holidays will be afforded to you as you advance within the company and are given at the owners’ discretion.

Bonuses: Annual bonuses are based upon overall company performance and are given at the owners’ discretion.

Overview: Wichman Landscape Construction is a full-service design and build landscape construction company specializing in natural stone projects and is seeking to to hire energetic and talented landscape construction individuals to join our team for 2022 and beyond.

Job Duties:

Possess a valid driver license with medical card to operate trucks (14,000 – 19,000 GVWR) while towing trailers (10,000 Lbs). CDL preferred but not required
Bi Lingual preferred but not required
Read and layout landscape construction plans
Help organize and execute job tasks for all project phases
Interaction with the client
Operate & maintain small tools & equipment such as chain saws, sod cutters, tillers, plate compactors, pumps, . .
Operate & maintain excavating equipment such as a mini excavators, skid loaders, large excavators, and compactors, . .
Knowledge of site clearing, grading, drainage, boulders, natural stone steps, retaining walls. free standing walls, patios, pool decks, hot tub decks, water features, footers, masonry, outdoor fireplaces & fire pits, outdoor kitchens & outdoor living spaces, flagstone, concrete flat work, natural stone & concrete pavers, natural stone & interlocking block, planting bed preparation, plant installation along with standard horticultural practices, and landscape lighting

Team Member Earning Potential:

Wichman Landscape Construction, LLC created incredibly beautiful stairs, paths and retaining walls over our hillside that were beyond our greatest expectations! Jeff Wichman's team was thorough, professional, hard-working and attentive to every little detail! They were tasked with removing the existing walls and stairs and rebuilding them to the contours of the landscape. What they designed and built was amazing, sturdy, inspiring and overwhelmingly complimentary to our gardens. The team was always on time and worked steadily to accomplish the job. Cleanup was exemplary. We feel we were rewarded with more than we had anticipated. We look forward to spending many happy hours using the paths and stairs to attend to our gardens.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. During summer 2020, Wichman rebuilt the very badly assembled retaining wall in front of and on the side of our house.  The previous owner had simply stacked a pile of rocks and called it a wall.  Not only did Wichman create a beautiful retaining wall in its place, they used the existing rocks!  For a week, we and our neighbors watched as the crew hand-chiseled (!!!) the existing pile into stackable bricks, carefully placing each to create a stable and attractive wall.  Two and a half years later, there have been absolutely zero issues, and we are still getting compliments from neighbors.  Even more amazing, Wichman Landscape was the low bidder among the quotes we received.  Cannot recommend this company highly enough! (Picture on left is BEFORE; picture on right is AFTER.)

We had an idea of what we wanted but adapted the design to better fit the landscape - thanks to Jeff’s expert input. The building material is beautiful and the construction is top notch. We’ve received nothing but compliments from neighbors! The crew kept things as clean as possible (a feat for construction in a wet December) and were always happy to answer questions when asked. The schedule was tough to maintain (weather, etc) but once things got rolling, the crew worked quickly without sacrificing quality.

Jeff was one of the first to reply to messages I left seeking an estimate for a patio and he was also the most candid, creative and true to his word. He listened to what my wife and I were thinking and augmented it with his own ideas, never hesitating to let us know if he thought something we wanted wouldn't work while offering an alternative that was always better than what we had in mind. He was straightforward on pricing and gave us pros/cons for going more inexpensive or expensive, depending on the need.

When the time came to do the work he was true to the schedule (even in questionable December weather), always showed-up when they said they'd be onsite and worked a weekend day to keep on schedule. Jeff checked in regularly and always made himself available for questions during the job (we didn't have any) and made sure to reseed our yard where the heavy machinery and work had torn it up, offering to come back in the spring to fill-in areas as needed. We're thrilled with the finished product.

We live in an older neighborhood of the city and wanted to reinvigorate our outdoor living space that is hilly and mainly dominated by the sloping driveway to our 2 car external garage. Jeff had a vision that would make for a spectacular space that we could utilize all areas including the pad in front of the driveway.
